September brings new CRM mashups, Jigsaw contacts, and improved search

September is a busy month for sales people… after the summer doldrums many of us have to squeeze an entire quarter’s worth of deals into the final month of Q3.  Well it turned out to be a very busy month for the InsideView development team, too.  Our September release includes two new CRM integrations, the addition of Jigsaw contacts, improved industry search, and email notifications for mobile devices.  Phew!

  1. SalesView for Oracle CRM On Demand
We publicly unveiled our Oracle integration at the OpenWorld Social CRM Inner Circle.  InsideView’s externally-focused ‘socialprise‘ capabilities are a perfect compliment to Oracle’s internally-focused ‘social CRM‘ capabilities.  The Oracle partnership marks our fifth major CRM integration in just the last six months.  SalesView is fast becoming a ubiquitous sales productivity application across the leading CRM platforms (Salesforce.com, SugarCRM, Landslide, Microsoft, Oracle).

  2. SalesView for Microsoft Dynamics CRM
We publicly announced our Microsoft integration at Interop New York 2008.  We’re thrilled to bring SalesView FREE to all Microsoft Dynamics CRM customers, whether hosted or on-premise.  Microsoft has also proven to be a strong supporter of socialprise, having recognized early on the value of tapping into social media to drive enterprise sales.

  3. Jigsaw contacts for manager & director titles
Just a few weeks after announcing an expanded relationship with Jigsaw, we have added director and manager level titles from Jigsaw to the SalesView database.    The addition of Jigsaw provides user-generated content, along with editorially maintained content from Hoovers, D&B, and Reuters and Web crawler content from ZoomInfo.  Jigsaw brings several key strengths to the table including availability of lower level management titles, email addresses, and direct dial phone numbers.

  4. Improved industry-based company search
Our new industry classification makes it easier than ever to identify prospective customers by vertical/industry.  You will find the new industries under Find >> Company Criteria.

  5. Notifications for text-only mobile devices
If you haven’t yet made the switch to a smart phone that support HTML emails, you can delay that purchase a bit longer.  InsideView daily alerts are now readable on text-only mobile devices.  (And for those of you who are used to viewing the nice HTML emails on your iPhone, you still can!)

Umberto Milletti interviewed at the Interop Conference on Web 2.0, socialprise, and the economy

If the purse strings feel tight here in the Bay Area, imagine being in the hub of world finance:  The Big Apple.  But that’s where Umberto was last week, taking part in the 2008 Interop conference.  In addition to speaking on ‘The ROI for Social Networking’ panel, Umberto also met up with numerous journalists from a wide spectrum of beats:  CRM, enterprise, and even finance.

He first caught up with Curtis Franklin of SMB IT to talk about InsideView’s exciting and compelling developments in the socialprise, just how it is that SalesView actually works, and how it’s making a difference in the sales force landscape:

Interop Podcast Interview

Not every interview was about SalesView and the socialprise, though.  As CEO of a successful start-up, he shared his experience as such during these challenging economic times.

Speaking with Mary Kathleen Flynn from TheDeal.com about the impact of the tough economy on the start-up and Web 2.0 environment, Umberto said that one positive impact is that the real innovators can rise to the top:

Partnership with Jigsaw Keeps the Socialprise Rolling

SalesView just got even better today with our announcement that we’re deepening our partnership with business information and data services powerhouse Jigsaw (www.jigsaw.com). We will now be further integrating data from Jigsaw’s contact and company information directory into SalesView. The folks at Jigsaw have found innovative and incredible ways to collect and leverage user-generated content contributed by its global membership, which amounts to 9 million business contacts and 1 million companies. Jigsaw delivers low-cost and easy access to high-value business information that can be used to identify key decision makers and people for purposes such as sales, marketing, recruiting and customer service. Integrating this wealth of information into the SalesView application means raising the bar for the level of value that the next generation of web-based sales offerings can deliver. Working with great companies like Jigsaw is really what it’s all about for us here at InsideView and we’re very excited to be partnering with them to extend the value of the socialprise.

Smokin’ Hot Updates from InsideView

InsideView is serving up smokin' hot product updates

You know that guy who selflessly toils away at the grill while everyone else at the picnic enjoys the good food and conversation? That would be our development team. Yes, during the dog days of summer when many of us in sales are enjoying vacations or laying by the pool, the InsideView engineers have been busy manning the grill and serving up some hot new features. When we fired up the grill earlier this month our focus was on making SalesView even smarter and easier to use. The ingredients? First we started with some great user feedback from our growing SalesView community (thank you!) and then we added a little secret sauce from the InsideView team.

Here’s a quick run down on some of the things we’ve been cooking up!
1. Connections Get Kicked Up a Notch
We moved a step closer to perfecting our recipe for connection analysis using what we call entity triangulation. By comparing and merging executive profiles from different data sources, we maximize your ability to leverage relationships. You also get the very best information that sources like Reuters, Hoovers, D&B, and ZoomInfo have to offer — all in one executive profile.

2. Fire Up SalesView Search From Your CRM
Our latest Salesforce mash-up allows you to search SalesView without leaving your CRM. Not finding any search results in your Salesforce? No problem. Use the new SalesView search box in the left-hand navigation to find the company or executive you’re looking for (and export them back into your CRM with a single click!)

3. Capture All the Flavor of Agents in Your CRM
Wish you could easily save the key events and insights found by SalesView’s Smart Agents? Well now you can. Our Salesforce mash-up now allows you to save Agent events as a Task or Note so that you can easily follow up on them. You can also email Agent events to other members of your sales and marketing team without having to leave your CRM.

These are just some of the updates you will notice in SalesView. We’ve also done some great work to make company and executive searches even faster. Check it all out for yourself by logging into SalesView today.

While summer is winding down in most places, our summer is just hitting it’s stride here in the Bay Area. And that means you can look for more great features hot off the grill. In the coming months you will see some great new capabilities related to CRM integration, new content sources, and additional breakthroughs in the use of social media in the enterprise.
